This is the winter season but not as you know it as French Polynesia is warm year-round.

Only 5 days of the month will see some rain and this is usually short lived showers. The best part as it’s not the peak time for summer vacation / holidays, it’s much less crowded.

The temperatures are lovely, averaging around  29°C / 85°F The weather is extremely pleasant at this time of year. 

May is the best time to visit Bora Bora on honeymoon!

In fact, June is one of driest and least humid months of the year. If there are rain showers across the French Polynesia islands, they’ll usually pass quickly.

December is the second rainiest month of the year (after January!).

Around half the  days of the month will see some rain. The weather in Tahiti and Moorea tend to be the same, although they get slightly less rainfall.

While it won’t usually rain all day, every day and you can get lucky with just the odd shower and thunderstorm, you could also be unlucky and experience full rainy days and even a cyclone.
