Although not as refined or extensive as those in Bali or Miami, Santorini has some beach club gems worth exploring.

We love Yalos Santorini on Eco Gialos. The decor of summer inspired wood blends in with the lunar like beach for a really chic hangout.

Tranquilo is a colourful, laid back option on the east coast’s Perissa beach serving great vegan food with the added bonus of heavenly hammocks to lounge in, too.

For history buffs, a visit to the prehistoric settlement at Akrotiri is one of the best things to do in Santorini on honeymoon.

This archaeological site is one of Greece’s most significant historical treasures. Step back in time to the Bronze Age, where a thriving city of the ancient Minoan people once flourished.

This natural time capsule provides an invaluable glimpse into the past, offering insights into the lives and culture of the Minoan civilization.

The eruption that shaped the landscape of Santorini also unleashed a devastating tsunami in Crete and is believed to have marked the end of the mighty Minoan empire.

The remnants of Akrotiri, often referred to as the ‘Greek Pompeii‘ because of its striking similarities to the famed Italian archaeological site, bear witness to this ancient catastrophe.

14. Sail Away on a Romantic Boat Trip

Another must-do in Santorini! Embark on a beautiful yacht or catamaran tour around the island.

Most Santorini boat tours include hotel pickup and depart from Ammoudi Bay (or sometimes Vylchada Beach marina in the south or Athinios Port in the southwest).

Marvel at the alternative view of Oia from the beautiful Aegean blue water.

Choose a morning filled with sunshine with a delicious BBQ lunch. Alternatively, set sail in the afternoon and witness the sunset over the caldera from the water. It’s truly stunning.

On our last trip to Santorini, we booked with Santorini Yachting Club, and everything from the crew to the food exceeded our expectations.

You have the option to book a group tour which we found really fun or, if within budget, for a more romantic outing, consider a private tailor-made trip for something really special.

As the sun begins its descent, Oia Castle is one of the most sought-after sunset destinations on Earth.

Although it may be challenging to escape the crowds at Oia Castle, there are plenty of spots around the island. We’ve already mentioned about booking a romantic dinner or two with a view for an undisturbed evening.

However, there are a couple of more spots. Check out the 19th-century Akrotiri Lighthouse or the Prophet Elias Monastery.
