The things you shouldn’t add to your All Inclusive Packing List
When you’re finalising your all inclusive packing list, it’s just as important to know what to leave behind as it is to know what to bring.
Don’t forget to check your luggage allowance before you start packing so you can avoid over packing!
Things to leave behind:
Warm Clothes – Leave heavy clothing off your all inclusive resort packing list. If you’re heading off to tropical climates, you won’t need thick clothing. Even when it rains, it’s warm!
Gadgets – While your camera, e-reader, smartphone (or even your drone) might be essential items on your all inclusive packing list, avoid overloading your luggage with too many electronic devices.
Embrace the chance to disconnect and immerse yourself in your blissful honeymoon.
Too many makeup products – Humid climates can make heavy makeup uncomfortable and short-lived, so just add your most paired back products to your all inclusive packing list.
Snorkelling or scuba diving gear – Unless you’re particularly attached to your own gear, dive centres and snorkelling excursion operators will provide all the necessary equipment. Although, for hygiene reasons you may want to pack your own!
Expensive jewellery – Although you want to wear your engagement and wedding rings – make sure they’re not loose! Leave other expensive jewellery at home to avoid mishaps (trust us, we’ve been there!).
Single-use plastics – in an effort to reduce your carbon footprint, make your honeymoon sustainable – consider reducing the use of single-use plastics in your packing. Opt for reusable items where possible.
Ok, let’s get packed with the Ultimate All Inclusive Packing List…
The Ultimate All Inclusive Packing List
Essentials
Don’t forget to check the visa, passport and other entry requirements for your destination. Some destinations require you to have at least 6 months’ validity left on your passport (i.e. your passport expiry date must be 6 months from your return date).
For up-to-date visa information, check out iVisa.com
Most documents are electronic now, so make sure you have your boarding pass or e-ticket on your phone along with your transport, hotel and tour confirmations.
Travel vaccinations are recommended for many destinations. We encourage you to visit the Centers for Disease Control for up-to-date travel vaccination recommendations or speak to a Tropical Medicine Specialist.
Don’t forget to bring some local currency to your destination. You’ve booked an all inclusive, so bring some small bills for tipping. We’d recommend this in the Caribbean and Central America honeymoon hotspots like Mexico.
However, in some destinations, like the Maldives, day-to-day tipping is not the norm.
You can usually take out cash at ATMs in airports and around the main tourist centres. If you bring cash to exchange locally, make sure they’re fresh / undamaged notes.
- Passports
- Travel Documents / Confirmations
- Tickets, Boarding passes + Vouchers
- Visa & Entry Requirements Information

- Money wallet/belt

Clothing & Accessories
Whether it’s hanging by stunning pools or picturesque beaches, you’ll spend most of your time in swimwear, so pack an array of swimsuits, bikinis and some chic beach cover-ups like kaftans.
More than one pair of your favourite sunglasses is an essential addition to your all inclusive packing list.
Add some light summer dresses or shorts and tops such as vests / tank tops and t-shirts for lunches and cute dresses / playsuits to your all inclusive packing list for evenings.
For men, some long linen style trousers are ideal for night time dining.
Depending on how laid back the resort is, you may want to leave the stiletto heels behind and opt for a more block heel. However, some cute flip flops/thongs, sliders and dressy sandals are a must.
Include at least one sun hat and a chic beach bag (we love this tropical green monogrammed one – you can get your married initials)
You may want to cover up with a rash guard during the day if you’re taking part in water activities. Don’t forget to pick up some water shoes / aqua shoes for snorkelling adventures.
Pack some comfy clothes for the plane — athleisure wear, sneakers, scarves, socks.
If you are gym lovers, you’ll most likely need to add your gear to your all inclusive packing list. Although, we’d recommend a barefoot jog along the beach and sunrise yoga or pilates instead of hitting the gym!
You may decide to take some excursions? If you’re going to be visiting local towns and villages or popping into temples, churches and mosques, check local customs. If needed, pack some more modest clothing, such as a dress with longer sleeves and length or light trousers.
If you plan on getting outside the resort for hiking or jungle and rainforest treks, add some more practical footwear to your all inclusive packing list. Sneakers or tennis shoes might be sufficient depending on your plans! A practical day bag is essential to fit in all your essentials.
A light rain jacket can be needed if travelling during the rainy season. We love with our Rains waterproof jacket.
Resorts provide beach towels, so if your all inclusive packing list is already overflowing, then there is no need to bring one.
Although, we love our Dock and Bay quick-dry towels which are compact and come in an array of cute colours to fit in with your honeymoon aesthetic!
We hope your resort has no sunbed hogging issues! However, some beach towel clips can be handy if you’re grabbing the best sunbed spot.
All inclusive resorts can often be further from big cities and towns. So depending on where you are going, it’s good to be prepared for all eventualities as there may not be lots of shops nearby.

Personal Care
Personal care is just that, personal! So take what you need from this section to add to your all inclusive packing list.
You may love your own hair dryer, but your hotel will have one, so there may not be a need to bring your own.
If you do, remember that you might need a power converter if you’re coming from a destination with low voltage like the USA to a higher voltage destination.
One of the most important things to add to your all inclusive packing list is reef safe sunscreen. Sun Bum is our top pick for reef friendly SPF.
If you haven’t already got a hanging toiletries travel bag, then we insist you invest in one! These super handy bags just hang on the back of a door and we never leave ours at home.
As we’ve mentioned, all inclusive resorts can sometimes be more remote, with only small local shops nearby, so make sure you have everything you need before you go.
We’ve got you covered with all the personal care you may need to add to your all inclusive packing list!

Healthcare
Healthcare is another important yet personal aspect, so add what you need to your all inclusive packing list.
Most luxury resorts will have a medic on call if you need treatment for something relatively minor.
However, it’s essential to have travel insurance in place when you’re travelling. We don’t want to sound gloomy, but you need cover in case you fall seriously ill.
If you don’t have travel insurance, check out World Nomads to learn more.
World Nomads provide travel insurance for travellers in over 100 countries. As an affiliate, we receive a fee when you get a quote from World Nomads using this link. We do not represent World Nomads. This is information only and not a recommendation to buy travel insurance from World Nomads.
Are you going to a place where you can catch mosquito-borne diseases such as Dengue Fever and potentially Zika virus?
Many luxury resorts will try to treat their properties with chemicals to reduce mosquitoes.
However, as seasoned victims of mosquito bites, we’d still recommend adding all of your favourite anti mosquito protection to your all inclusive packing list.
We bring DEET, Avon Skin So Soft Dry Oil, insect repellent bracelets and a Bite Pen. Whatever works for you should be on your all inclusive packing list!
If you’re planning a luxury all inclusive trip, it’s unlike you’ll have any issues with food-borne diseases.
Yet a change of food and water can still cause some stomach issues, so pack some antidiarrheal medication, like Imodium and a domperidone like Motilium, although you can purchase many medications from a local pharmacy.
- Contraception / Birth Control
- Vitamins & Supplements
- Bandaids
- Pain relief – aspirin/paracetamol
- Hand Sanitiser/Antibacterial wipes
- Insect repellent / DEET / Bite Pen
- Travel sickness medication
- Antihistamine
- Anti-diarrheal
- Prescription medications
- Contact lenses/glasses
Cosmetics
We mentioned to just pack your most ‘barely there’ look if you’re going somewhere hot and humid and you’ll be spending a lot of time by the pool and beach.
However, for our gals who like to get glam and who need to bring their essentials, here’s our handy list so you don’t forget your favourite makeup products.
- Make-up Bag
- Micellar Water
- Primers
- Foundation
- Concealer
- Highlighter
- Contour
- Powder
- Blushes
- Eyeshadows
- Eye Liners
- Mascara
- Brow products
- Lip Liner, Lipsticks & Lipgloss
- Make-up Brushes

Electronics
You’ll need to check the plug type/voltage of your destination, but a universal travel plug adapter is an essential addition to your all inclusive packing list. This one with USB connections is super handy.
Many couples just use their smartphone for photography, but you may want to bring your camera to capture those beautiful sunsets (we have the Sony ZV1 camera).
A waterproof phone cover will be one of the best things to add to your all inclusive packing list, too. You can take photos while having fun in the pool and the sea.
Going on some excursions? Selfie sticks may feel a little silly, but we still think it’s the best way to get that perfect insta image without getting other people involved! If you want to feel less conspicuous, opt for a GorillaPod instead.
Thinking about bringing a drone or living your best influencer life?
For beginners, consider investing in a DJI Mini. Although bear in mind you are may need to register with the relevant authorities for drone use and a lot of resorts around the world do not allow drones as they may impinge on other guests privacy – so check with your resort before you add to your all inclusive packing list.
Add your Apple AirPods or your favourite headphones to your all inclusive packing list (and make your own honeymoon playlist before you leave).
Physical books are our absolute favourite, so bring at least one must-read for lounging on your sun bed.
However, if you’re a voracious reader like us, you may want to read 10 books! Fill up your Kindle with all the books you’ve been meaning to read or get some of our favourite books for honeymoon here!
Do you have a lot of cables? You might like this chic travel case. We bring this everywhere to keep all our things neat and tidy.
- Universal plug adapters
- Camera + SD cards + battery/ charger
- Drone + SD + battery / charger
- Selfie Stick or Gorilla Pod
- Smartwatch + charger
- Phone + charger + power bank
- Headphones
- Laptop or Tablet + charger

Miscellaneous
All the other things you may or may not need!
There are many great suitcase brands out there, but we like to keep it classic with our Samsonite hardshell spinner. They come in a range of cute colours to match your honeymoon aesthetic (and they last forever!).
Don’t forget an Apple AirTag, the best luggage tracker to add to your all inclusive packing list (in case the worst happens!).
We’re total over packers but we love to be organised, so packing cubes are super handy if you want to compartmentalise (if you’re going on a multi-destination honeymoon, they’re fantastic as they save you from having to unpack everything). Don’t forget TSA approved locks for your luggage.
A dry bag can be handy to keep any essentials away from the water.
- Suitcases
- Air Tag / Luggage Tracker
- Packing Cubes
- Landry Bag
- Luggage locks
- Sewing kit
- Fans
- Pens / Notebook or Honeymoon Journal
- Dry Bag
- Wet bag
For the flight
Whether the flight is 3 hours or 13 hours, make sure you’re comfy, particularly if you’re flying economy.
This is probably obvious, but besides some practical items below, we’d recommend packing a few outfits and at least one piece of swimwear in your carry on / cabin suitcase (just in case your checked bags go missing!).
- Travel blanket / Pillow — our favourite 2 in 1 blanket and pillow slips handily on to your cabin suitcase.
- Eye Mask
- Ear plugs
- Flight Socks
- Deck of cards
- Books or magazines
- Snacks
Sustainable all inclusive packing list tips
To make your all inclusive honeymoon more sustainable — consider reducing the number of single-use plastic in your all inclusive packing list.
Tap water is not safe to drink at all destinations and this can mean going through a lot of plastic bottles. Instead, consider a water filtration and purification travel bottle like Grayl.
Some useful things to pack:
- Reusable water bottle
- Reusable straws for beachside juices and cocktails
- Reusable Cotton pads
- Crystal nail file
- Menstrual cups
