Absolutely! St. Lucia is one of the most diverse islands in the Caribbean and is perfect for a honeymoon.

Unfortunately, St. Lucia has a conservative attitude towards LGBTQ+ rights, and same-sex sexual activity is still illegal (although not enforced).

Local attitudes may vary, as it sadly does the world over, so discretion is recommended.

Internationally owned luxury hotels do not usually discriminate against LGBTQ+ couples when extending complimentary honeymoon amenities (where applicable), but it’s worth checking with them before you book.

The duration of a St. Lucia honeymoon will depend on several factors, including your available time, budget, and the type of experience you’re looking to have.

There are so many things to do and experience on a St. Lucia honeymoon, we recommend at least 7 nights, which will give you enough time to relax and take some day trips.

There are two airports on St. Lucia.

Most international flights fly to Hewanorra International Airport at Vieux Fort (airport code: UVF) on the southern end of the island.

You can fly direct from London (9 hours) and also from or via major North American east coast cities like Miami, Atlanta, New York, Charlotte, Philadelphia, and Toronto (4-5 hours).

George F. L. Charles Airport (airport code: SLU), formerly known as “Vigie Airport,” is near the capital Castries in the north of the island.

It is primarily used for inter-island Caribbean flights from Barbados (BGI), Antigua (ANU), Trinidad & Tobago (POS), and Dominica (DOM).

On arrival, you’re usually no more than 30-90 minutes transfer from your resort, or you can opt for a short helicopter transfer to some resorts if you don’t fancy a long drive!

St. Lucia is malaria-free; however, it is not a zika-free honeymoon destination.

St. Lucia is a relatively small island, and you can drive from the north to the south in around 90 minutes.
