Anse Chastanet Beach has a reef just offshore teeming with colourful fish and coral. Bring your own gear or rent it on the beach.

The calm waters make it easy for beginners. Look out for parrotfish, angelfish, and even sea turtles as you float along the surface.

Anse Des Pitons aka Sugar Beach, Smuggler’s Cove in the Cap Estate also have some wonderful reefs formed in the volcanic underwater landscapes.

If you want to dive deeper, the Anse Chastanet Reef is a top spot, with depths ranging from 5 to 50 metres. You’ll see large schools of fish, sea fans, and barrel sponges.

Beginners can take a class or course to try diving in shallow water.

Experienced divers can explore wrecks like the Lesleen M, a 50-metre freighter sunk in 1986 to create an artificial reef where you can spot turtles and barracuda.

Don’t miss the chance to dive at the base of the Pitons. These iconic mountains continue underwater, creating dramatic walls and pinnacles to explore.

Get up-close views on an 8-cable zipline course as you whiz past towering trees and over lush valleys. You can take the fun aerial tram afterwards, too.

Inland rides can take you through lush rainforests and past local farms.

Most rides last about 2-3 hours. It’s one of our favourite things to do in St. Lucia for hippophiles!

The Sandals St. Lucia Golf & Country Club at Cap Estate has stunning ocean views. The course winds through tropical landscape with challenging elevation changes.

The other course is at Sandals Regency La Toc. It’s a 9-hole course, but you can play it twice for a full 18-hole round.

The course is set on a steep hillside with panoramic views of the Caribbean Sea.

You can fit a lot into one day! 

Stop at Diamond Falls Botanical Gardens & Mineral Baths, visit smaller fishing villages and see the Caribbean’s most famous landmarks, with its two towering volcanic cones, Gross Piton and Petit Piton.

Visit the sulphur springs and waterfalls.  How about a a bird’s-eye view? You can take a helicopter ride over the island. You’ll soar over the famous Pitons, dense rainforests, and sparkling beaches.

Learn to cook typical St. Lucian creole cuisine with a professional chef using fresh, local ingredients to make traditional dishes.

Try your hand at green fig and saltfish, the national dish. Or make a spicy curry with local spices.

Pick out fruits, veg, and spices with your chef guide. It’s a great way to meet locals and see daily life.

Sip on an authentic taste of the Caribbean with a visit to the St. Lucia Distillers to see how this iconic spirit is made.

St. Lucia is known for its cacao, so don’t miss a chocolate tour. Visit this cocoa plantation to see how cacao trees are grown and the beans are processed.

Try your hand at grinding cocoa beans the traditional way. Learn how to make chocolate. Of course, the best part is tasting and bringing some home!

This weekly event has happened every Friday night for over 50 years (except Good Fridays)!

Streets are closed to cars and filled with food stalls, bars, and music. Try local street food like grilled fish or jerk chicken. Dance to Caribbean music and mingle with both locals and other tourists.

The party starts around 8 pm and goes late into the night. Dress casually and bring cash for food and drinks!

Hike up to Fort Rodney for panoramic views of the Caribbean Sea. You might even see all the way to Martinique on a clear day.

Visit the small museum to learn about the island’s colonial past. See artefacts from both British and French rule of the island.

Pack a picnic to enjoy on one of the two beaches. Don’t forget your camera. The park has photo ops, from old cannons to beautiful beaches.

The park has bubbling mud baths and hot springs, from an active volcano, La Soufrière.

Cover yourselves in warm, grey volcanic mud. This natural mask is said to detoxify and soften your skin (and may help with skin conditions and joint pain).

After you’re finished in the mud bath, wash it off in a refreshing natural rainforest waterfall bath.

Remember to bring dark swimwear, as the sulphur can stain light colours. This is one of the most popular things to do in St. Lucia so go early if you can to avoid the crowds!

Diamond Falls Botanical Gardens & Mineral Baths is one of the most popular things to do in St. Lucia.

This private park has a beautiful waterfall with a colourful mineral-stained rock face. You can’t swim directly under it, but there are nearby mineral baths.

Toraille Waterfalls and Superman Falls and Piton Falls in Soufriere are worth checking out for a natural cool shower.

Sault Falls (also known as Errard Falls or Dennery Falls) is more seasonal and depends on the rains but the serene setting is worth checking out.

Just bear in mind that many other tourists like to visit the waterfalls in St. Lucia so if you can arrive early to beat the crowds!

The best spot is to explore the waters around Soufriere and St. Lucia’s famous Pitons.

Glide across the water with clear views of Gros Piton and Petit Piton, the two famed volcanic spires rising from the sea.

You can even opt for a tour with a drone photoshoot. Perfect for that instagram-worthy moment!

The trail is challenging, taking about 2-4 hours to reach the summit. Gros Piton stands at 798.25 m (2,618.9 ft) high. 

Pack sturdy shoes and plenty of water. It’s best to start early to avoid the midday heat. Booking a guide is a must.

Along the way, you’ll see diverse plant life and maybe even some local wildlife. The panoramic view from the top is well worth the effort.

For an easier, more leisurely walk, try the Tet Paul Nature Trail. It has beautiful views with a much gentler walk.

There are around 20 beaches on the island, many of them are black or golden sands.

We know many couples come to the Caribbean for white sand beaches! Anse des Pitons, aka Sugar Beach aka Jalousie Beach, nestled under the Pitons, is a powdery white sand and crystal-clear waters.

It’s perfect for snorkelling or just lounging. The white sand here is actually imported but you’d never tell!

All beaches in St. Lucia are public so although Anse de Pitons is the beach of luxury resort Sugar Beach, you can access the public part of it.

Anse Chastanet Beach is known for its excellent snorkelling. The coral reef just offshore teems with colourful fish along this palm tree lined, dark sand haven. Don’t miss Anse Mamin Beach nearby which is less crowded.

If you’re staying in the north of the island, Smugglers Cove in Cap Estate is worth checking out, too. There are 200 steps down and back up though!

Reduit Beach in Rodney Bay is a long stretch of golden sand. You can enjoy water sports or relax at one of the beachfront bars, this is a more bustling vibe and one of the busiest beaches on the island.

Vigie Beach is close to the capital and can be quite busy.
