Oceania

Summer is almost here in Australia and our favourite month to visit this vast country. It’s warmed up in the south of the country and temperatures in the Red Centre are still comfortable. It’s still dry season in Queensland – November is one of the best times to visit. Australia is one of our favourite destinations for a road trip honeymoon.

November is a transitional month in one of the most beautiful places on earth, French Polynesia. You can expect some showers but plenty of sunshine too. Resort prices start to come down as the dry season passes.

Another favourite honeymoon road trip destination is magnificent New Zealand. It’s also a shoulder month, as summer is on the way. Explore the mountains, lakes, wine regions and glaciers.

Africa & Indian Ocean

November is one of the best months to visit South Africa. This is a honeymoon destination that has it all: beaches, wildlife, cities and, of course, wine.

It’s the start of the rainy season in some countries in Africa. You can expect showers and maybe some overcast days in Tanzania and Kenya, but there are still incredible wildlife opportunities. We’ve broken down the differences between these two destinations.

November is hot in both Namibia and Botswana, and heavy rains start to arrive. Victoria Falls is at its lowest level of power at this time of year.

For beach lovers, November is a transitional month in the Indian Ocean. Meaning, it’s either the end or the beginning of the rainy season, which is a great time to visit. For some beautiful beach resorts, consider Mauritius. Temperatures have increased after their cooler winter and although you may experience the odd rain shower, the full rainy season doesn’t start until December. We’ve got out our Ultimate Mauritius Honeymoon Guide here.

In stunningly beautiful Seychelles, the weather is warm and there is a break between the two traditional trade winds, making it a pleasant month to travel. It’s also an optimum month for diving before the rainy season starts in December. It’s one of our favourite destinations for island hopping. You can check our Ultimate Seychelles Guide here.

We’re more than a little obsessed with the Maldives for a tropical beach paradise honeymoon and the rainfall starts to drop in November. Check out our Ultimate Maldives Honeymoon Guide here.

South America

November is a great month to visit most of South America. It’s just before summer begins in Brazil and the weather is warm around the country. Explore the beaches and parties along its vast coastline from Fortaleza to Rio de Janeiro, the wildlife of the Amazon and Pantanal and highlights like Ilha Grande and Iguaçu Falls.

November is the month all of Argentina opens up (rather than just the north of the country). This vast, beautiful country is perfect for a honeymoon adventure. Want to use your honeymoon to tick off your bucket list? Antarctic cruises begin in November.

It’s a transitional month in Peru. While you may experience some showers, the Inca Trail is still doable. Ecuador is also a great destination for an adventure honeymoon and can be visited all year round. November is the dry season in the Amazon. You can visit the Galapagos Islands all year round and in November you might meet some sea lion pups. Colombia has multiple climate systems. However, November is one of the wettest months overall.

North America, Central America & Caribbean

Autumn is in full swing in North America in November. Canada is cold now, so best if you’re seeking winter sports. While the northern states of the USA are colder, it’s pleasant in Southern California and around Arizona, Nevada and New Mexico, although it gets colder at night in the desert areas. It’s the beginning of winter in Hawaii although the weather is still warm. You can expect a little more rain. It’s a great time for surfing – taking part or as a spectator! Learn more with our Ultimate Hawaii Honeymoon Guide.

Although hurricane season is from June to October and hurricanes have been known to occur in November, they are quite rare at this time of year. Florida and the southern states around the Gulf of Mexico are a relatively safe bet, particularly towards the end of the month. Similarly, the Caribbean islands are coming into their dry seasons, so add Jamaica, Barbados, Cuba and St. Lucia (to name a few!) to your wish list. It’s a great time of year for a Caribbean cruise too! Check out our favourite cruises for honeymoon here.

Central America destinations like Costa Rica, Mexico and Belize still experience some rainfall in November, although it is starting to ease throughout the month.

Europe

Winter has arrived in Europe and temperatures are cool and colder at the beginning of the low season. If you don’t need searing temperatures, you’ll have a more local experience with excellent deals in European cities. Ski resorts will start to open. Many beach tourist hotspots are quiet, but for some sun you can still head to Spain’s Canary Islands off the coast of Africa, Cyprus or the beaches of Turkey for mild, pleasant weather.

Middle East & Asia

Dry season has arrived in much of Southeast Asia so it’s the optimum time to visit Thailand (although stay on the west coast beaches as the east coast is still rainy) – we’ve got our Ultimate Thailand Honeymoon Guide here.

It’s one of the best months to visit Vietnam – take a tour from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh in this endlessly fascinating country. It’s a great time for Laos, Cambodia & Malaysia too.

While it’s colder in Beijing, it’s a fantastic time to visit the southern part of China. Ideal for an adventure honeymoon. Autumn has arrived in Japan and it’s a pleasant time to travel if you prefer cooler temperatures. You can also go island-hopping in The Philippines at this time of year.

It’s the last month of wet weather in Sri Lanka and the rainy season starts in Bali and the rest of Indonesia.

November is one of the best months to visit the Middle East. We love Dubai and Abu Dhabi as a stopover or you could spend your whole honeymoon in the UAE – with so much to do and some incredibly luxurious hotels. Oman and Jordan are ideal at this time of year – the blistering temperatures have long abated (although it can be cool at night in the desert).
