June is a wonderful month to visit the paradise islands of Fiji or French Polynesia. It’s the dry season. If Bora Bora has been on your honeymoon wishlist, then you’re in luck – with magical resorts like the Four Seasons and Conrad, you’ll be in heaven.

It’s also a perfect shoulder month for Australia, great for couples who may prefer to visit outside of the peak, extremely hot months. Although it is winter in the southern part of Australia (around Adelaide & Sydney) you can find winter sports opportunities in the state of Victoria near Melbourne). For sun lovers, you can expect beautiful, pleasant days in Queensland. Take the iconic road trip from Cairns to Brisbane. There is a vast array of things to see and do, including the Great Barrier Reef, Fraser Island and the Sunshine Coast. It’s also a great time to visit the Northern Territory. Experience Australia’s great expanses of the Red Centre and explore the sacred Uluru. This extraordinary land is rich in indigenous culture and one of the planet’s unique areas. Take the Ghan train to Darwin and explore Kakadu National Park.

It is the middle of winter in New Zealand, so while not ideal for a road trip, it is the perfect time for winter sports around Queenstown.

Africa & Indian Ocean

The great continent of Africa and one of the best honeymoon destinations in June, and it’s an ideal time for wildlife spotting.

It’s the middle of the dry season in Botswana when the Okavango Delta’s waters are high and the game viewing is at its best. Although the peak time for Victoria Falls is from March to May, June is still a wonderful month to see plenty of sprays. Consider a road trip with a difference in Namibia with the Skeleton Coast and Etosha National Park and the Kalahari desert. While the most popular route for a honeymoon in South Africa is Cape Town and the Garden Route, June is colder in these areas with some rain expected, but the rest of the country is warm and it’s a great time to visit Kruger National Park. You could also combine South Africa with the surrounding southern African countries. We love this tour by G Adventures from Namibia through Botswana to Victoria Falls.

Kenya and Tanzania’s rainy season is gone by late June and the wildebeest migration passes through the Masai Mara from June. Wondering what the difference is between Kenya and Tanzania? You can read more here.

It’s also a fantastic month to visit Seychelles – find our Ultimate Seychelles Honeymoon Guide here. Air connections from Nairobi and Johannesburg mean you can add on to an epic safari trip to this tropical paradise (although Seychelles is a destination deserving of all your attention without adding another destination!).

June is the beginning of winter in Mauritius. Temperatures are pleasant and rainfall is minimal (we recommend sticking with the west coast resort areas. Oberoi and LUX* Le Morne are two of our favourite hotels. If you’re looking for a beach destination that isn’t overly hot or too humid, then Mauritius is a great option – read our Ultimate Mauritius Honeymoon Guide here!

South America

Brazil is a year-round destination with balmy temperatures in June, so it’s a great time to visit if you prefer to go outside of the more humid months. It is the end of the rainy season in the Amazon, which is a good time for wildlife spotting.

June is also a great month to visit Peru, as it’s the dry season. One of the best times to navigate The Inca Trail (book early as permits are limited!) and visit the Amazon and Lake Titicaca. Ecuador is also a fantastic option with the Galapagos Islands accessible all year-round. June is a great month to see whales and dolphins. Although Tayrona National Natural Park closes for two weeks in June, Colombia is also a great option. Expect pleasant temperatures and so much to do, from the Andes to the Caribbean and Pacific coasts.

North America & Caribbean

June is one of the best months to visit North America. Summer has arrived in Canada, with Alaska and the Rockies, at the beginning of the peak tourist season. June is one of the best months to explore the USA, particularly the northern states and California and Hawaii (see our Ultimate Hawaii Honeymoon Guide here). With many incredible national parks and iconic cities throughout, there are endless combinations to suit every honeymoon desire.

Although considered the start of hurricane season, which can affect the Caribbean and the coastal southern US states, June is a lower risk month. Destinations like Barbados and St. Lucia are wonderful options. We love the all-inclusive hotels on the Riviera Maya of Mexico like Secrets Resorts. Caribbean cruises are also a superb choice at this time of year. You may get the odd shower but plenty of sunshine and warm temperatures.

Summer is coming into full swing, making Europe one of the best June honeymoon destinations to consider.

The continent is diverse, with so many wonderful places to visit. It also has a well-connected flight and train network, meaning you could combine multiple countries into one incredible honeymoon itinerary. Can’t decide between Amalfi Coast and Santorini? Then do both! Love the idea of London and Paris, but want a Mediterranean beach too? Easy peasy, take a train or flight.

Consider a road trip through Ireland, England, Scotland and Wales or a country hop across Scandinavia for picturesque towns and cities and scenic areas like Norway’s Fjords.

Middle East & Asia

It is the start of the monsoon in much of Asia, which brings heavy downpours. However, it’s actually a great month for Indonesia. Bali is one of the most desirable and affordable honeymoon destinations in the world. We recommend considering other areas of Indonesia to scratch the surface of this archipelago. Consider Java or Flores as an add-on to your epic honeymoon itinerary.

If you’re accustomed to hot temperatures, destinations like Dubai in the United Arab Emirates and Oman are starting to hot up. Turkey and Jordan are a little cooler but still quite warm.
