This modern adult-only boutique hotel is one of the coolest honeymoon hotels in Mauritius. SALT of Palmar features Camille Walala-designed interiors. The emphasis on food is a big draw. The stretch of beach on Mauritius’ west coast is sublime. Try the Best On Beach room for a balcony with day beds. The Good Kitchen is vegan and vegetarian, there is a bakery service 24/7 or decide between the rooftop or the beach bar for sundowners. Did we mention the beach?

The Oberoi Beach Resort
One of the most intimate five-star honeymoon hotels in Mauritius. The Oberoi Beach Resort is a beautiful resort in Turtle Bay (a natural marine park) on the west coast is stunning. If the budget can stretch, you won’t regret the Luxury Villas with Private Pool, but the entry-level Pavilions, decorated with natural cane and bamboo, are bright, spacious and a real treat too. We love the mojito menu and seafood from On The Rocks. Don’t leave without a dip in the adults-only infinity pool and having a candlelit dinner on the beach – pure romance.

LUX* Grand Baie
LUX* has 4 resorts across Mauritius (in addition to sister brand SALT) and it’s hard to choose one! LUX* Grand Baie is one of our favourite honeymoon hotels in Mauritius. On one of the most beautiful beaches on the island, design, wellness and gastronomy are the names of the game here. Kelly Hoppen designed the rooms – the LUX* Pool Residences are impressive. We’re obsessed with Bisou – the rooftop infinity pool and dining spot. Sip cocktails while your tapas-style lunch comes to you in a floating tray across the pool! The rooftop has two 30-metre Olympic-standard running tracks. (If you’re looking for something a little more secluded, consider LUX* Le Morne)

Shangri-La Le Touserrok
This honeymoon hotel in Mauritius is a long-time favourite. Shangri-La Le Touserrok is in a secluded bay on the east coast. It’s not surprising that couples have long chosen Shangri-La as their honeymoon hotel of choice. It even has its own private island and beach club – Ilot Mangénie. You can also golf on the celebrated Bernhard Langer-designed golf course on Ile aux Cerfs. We love the Frangipani Club Junior Suites Ocean View which includes your own butler and sunset cocktails. Sample the Healing Energy of Nature Retreat in the spa with dinner later in Kushi with a master sushi chef and a wagyu beef menu.

Sunrise Attitude
Sunrise Attitude is an adults-only 4* hotel is on one of Mauritius’ best beaches, Belle Mare, on the west coast. Attitude hotels are a local company with an authentic flair and operate some of our favourite three-star and four-star honeymoon hotels in Mauritius. They’re big on sustainability with zero plastic, no motorised water sports and no television. You’ll find vegan food options and the spa uses local Mauritian products – handmade and 100% natural. One&Only Le Saint Géran
One&Only Le Saint Géran was the first luxury hotel to open in Mauritius. This ultra-luxury resort on its own private peninsula on the east coast is one of the best honeymoon hotels on the island and has been a go-to for luxury lovers since 1975. Choose from rooms & suites facing the lagoon and ocean – we love the Beachfront Suites. Sip on a cocktail at one of the two swim-up bars, go kayaking, take a market-to-table Mauritian cooking class or just relax on one of the most beautiful beaches in the world.

Know for its attentive service and gourmet focus, Hotel 20 Degres Sud Relais & Chateaux is a 36-room intimate former colonial mansion turned boutique hotel, set amongst coconut palm trees, is ideally located in the north, Grand Baie and one of our favourite honeymoon hotels in Mauritius. This luxury Mauritian hotel group has beautiful hotels across the Indian Ocean, including in Maldives & Seychelles. We adore Constance Belle Mare Plage on the west coast, but its nearby sister resort, Constance Prince Maurice, is one of the unique honeymoon hotels in Mauritius.
