A destination that can tick off almost every bucket list, Australia is the stuff epic honeymoon dreams are made of.

Most couples will start in one of the major east coast cities and take the classic journey from Cairns to Brisbane to Sydney to Melbourne. Hire a vehicle and explore this fun and abundantly beautiful part of the planet. You can snorkel the Great Barrier Reef, explore the Daintree Rainforest, sail on a catamaran in the Whitsunday Islands, hold a Kaola Bear, spot some kangaroos, find dingoes and sharks on K’Gari aka Fraser Island, explore the beaches of Sunshine Coast, the theme parks of the Gold Coast, wish you lived in sunny Sydney, get off the beaten track at Wilsons Prom, explore the cool cafes and bars of Melbourne and take a road trip down the Great Ocean Road for the iconic 12 apostles. The possibilities are endless.

In the cities, find beautiful parks and engaging museums, and beautiful boutiques with the latest Australian designs. Sip local wine, drink innovative cocktails, eat any world cuisine and party in some of the most fun cities on earth.

Maybe you’ve been-there-done-that? Then consider exploring the Coral Coast from Perth or take the epic Ghan train from Adelaide to Darwin with a stop at the jaw-dropping Red Centre to visit the sacred Uluru. The centre of Australia is a word of its own with Mars-like landscapes and a deep indigenous history that is worth learning about.

Without a doubt, once you’ve had a taste of this great you’ll be planning an anniversary trip…

Australia is a large country with multiple weather systems, meaning you can visit all year round depending on what you want to see and do. The best time to visit Australia for a honeymoon is Spring (March to May) or Autumn (September to November). During the southern hemisphere winter (from June to August) the northern half experiences a dry season with ideal temperatures however, it gets colder in the country’s south with great skiing options in Victoria. During the Australian summer (from December to February) the weather is extremely hot in most parts of the country and the north part of the country can experience a lot of tropical rain and storms.
