This Buddhist nation of Nepal located north of India is a haven for intrepid mountain explorers and a feast for the senses.

Dramatic landscapes, ancient monasteries dotted under snow-capped peaks (including Mount Everest) combined with friendly faces in tea houses, make Nepal an enthralling place to visit.

Most couples will start in the fascinating capital, Kathmandu, with sites such as Durbar Square, the royal Hanuman Dhokaand and Swayambhunath Stupa aka monkey temple. The lake side town of Pokhara is not to be missed. South of the Himalayas opens to the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Chitwan National Park where you can search for tigers, rhinos and crocodiles among the verdant jungle.

A honeymoon in Nepal is perfect for something unconventional.

The best time to visit Nepal for a honeymoon is from October to April when the weather is usually dry and sunny although it gets cold in January and February and trekking is not recommended. The monsoon from June to September Nepal is best avoided during July and August because of the risk of heavy rains.

Is Nepal good for a honeymoon? Yes, it’s perfect for hikers, trekkers and culture, history and food lovers.
